Join seven conversations exploring who life is all about

Starting 7pm on Tuesday evenings from 13th October at the Vicarage.

Christianity isn't just a set of ideas, rules, or philosophies. At its heart, it's about a person to know - a person who shows us exactly what God is like, and what he thinks. Christianity is about Jesus Christ.

Over seven sessions, Christianity Explored takes you through the Gospel of Mark - an eyewitness testimony about who Jesus is, why he came, and what it means for us today.

We'll watch a short film together that will kick off the conversation, then continue it with time for discussion. Come with your questions, but be prepared - The answers may surprise you.

Harvest 2026

Join us to give thanks for our farmers, for this year’s harvest and for all God's good gifts. If you feel able to contribute, we will be making a collection of non-perishable items in support of local foodbanks.

Gobowen Community Cafe

A free drop-in cafe for all the community

Children’s crafts,
tea & coffee,
cake and chat

Every Thursday in term-time, 2:30-4:00pm, All Saints' Hall
Our popular weekly cafe drop-in will continue through the year. Every week during term time from 2:30-4:00pm on Thursdays for a warm welcome, a cuppa, chat and cake all free.

We are partnering with Warm Welcome UK to help anyone needing a warm space. Please spread the word.

St Barnabas Day Walk

11 June 2026

Barnabas, in the New Testament, was given that name because he was such an encouragement to others. 
You are invited to join us in a walk of encouragement and prayer.

St Barnabas Church, Hengoed (1850-1979), was built jointly between St Mary’s Selattyn and St John the Baptist Whittington. It was the centre of fellowship in Hengoed for over 125 years and its congregation was the driving force in founding the ministry in Gobowen in a mission hall, and later building All Saints’ Gobowen in 1928. In the 1970s, the building became unsafe and was closed before being dismantled. The peaceful churchyard remains between the parishes of St Mary’s and All Saints’.

June 11th is St Barnabas Day and you are invited to join us for the 4 mile walk from St Mary’s Selattyn via St Barnabas Hengoed, to All Saints’ Gobowen for refreshments. 
You are welcome to join us for part of the walk or at any of the stops along the route.

11.30am Meet at All Saint’s Gobowen to share lifts to Selattyn,

12 noon Meet at St Mary’s Selattyn to start the walk,

1.30 pm  Outdoor Service at St Barnabas Churchyard, Hengoed,

2.30 pm Community Cafe All Saints’ Gobowen,

3.30 pm  Car sharing offered to help people get home

Church Open Daily

Church Open: Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm.

The church building is open daily for visitors (Easter Monday to Harvest). You are welcome to sit and pray, 
or to explore our building and its history. It is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. On Sundays our service is at 11am.

There are free leaflets available for spiritual help and guidance, as well as information about the history of the church, upcoming events and services.

We meet every Sunday at 11am and you are most welcome to join us. If you would like to speak or pray with one of our pastoral team, please feel free to get in touch.

Upcoming Sermons in Matthew

In our upcoming sermons, through Lent and Easter, we will be focusing on Matthew 19-28. We see the clash of kingdoms, as the Lord’s rightful King opposes hollow human religion, but gathers around him a community of new kingdom life. He is the King who humbly enters Jerusalem on a colt, to be the suffering Messiah on the cross. Finally, he rises in resurrection triumph and promises to be with his disciples as they take his message to every corner of his world. May we be filled with gladness to have him as our King, Saviour and Lord.

#VillageHallsWeek Celebration

As part of the acre.org.uk campaign we are joining in #VillageHallsWeek which works to highlight the importance of village halls to the health and wellbeing of rural communities across England, Wales and Scotland.

We are hosting at 'thank you’ celebration for all the local community groups and their leaders. Any from our community are very welcome to join us. It will be held at our Community Cafe on Thursday 19 March 2026 anytime between 2.30-4pm. With children’s crafts, tea & coffee, cake and chat.

Breakfast: From Mafia to Christ

A Story of Remarkable Change

Meet Slavko at a special breakfast event at All Saints! Slavko is a former Bosnian mafia leader who ran three casinos and was involved in all sorts of corrupt activities.

Things began to change during the war in former Yugoslavia and, after fleeing the country, he kept finding his prayers to God being answered. At the same time, through the help of some family members, he came to faith in Christ. He has spent two decades as a church leader in Sarajevo (Bosnia & Herzegovina), and now preaches the good news around Europe.

He’ll tell his story at our breakfast event, Saturday March 14th at 9am in the church hall. Open to everyone.
